MISSION STATEMENT

At Open Door Counseling, we believe that every person has the capacity for growth and self-discovery. Our mission is to be a beacon of hope and healing, fostering a sense of self-worth and empowerment in those we serve. We offer tailored care to meet the needs of each individual and an environment of acceptance, respect, and confidentiality.

WHY WE CHOOSE TO OFFER OUR SERVICES VIA TELEHEALTH

  • Accessibility: Telehealth eliminates geographical barriers, allowing individuals to access mental health services regardless of their location. This is particularly helpful for those who live in remote areas or have limited access to transportation.

  • Convenience: Telehealth provides the convenience of receiving counseling from the comfort of your own home or any private and comfortable space. This can save time and reduce the stress associated with commuting to an in-person appointment.

  • Flexibility: Telehealth offers more flexible scheduling options. It can be easier to find appointment times that fit into your daily routine, especially for those with busy schedules or commitments.

  • Anonymity and Privacy: Some individuals might feel more comfortable discussing sensitive topics in the privacy of their own environment. Telehealth can enhance anonymity and privacy, which can be particularly important for issues related to mental health.

  • Reduced Stigma: For some people, there might be a perceived stigma associated with visiting a mental health clinic. Telehealth can help reduce this stigma, as the counseling session takes place remotely and discreetly.

  • Comfort and Familiarity: Some people find it easier to open up and communicate when they are in a familiar and comfortable environment. This can lead to more productive counseling sessions.
